State Capitol Representation
We are proactive in promoting the interests of the mortgage industry to the legislature and state agencies.
- We retain a lobbyist that represents the industry at the Colorado State Capitol
- We educate State Representatives about issues and legislation impacting the mortgage industry
Legislative and Regulatory Affairs Committee
The committee meets monthly to review proposed legislation and regulatory developments.
- We routinely comment on legislative and regulatory proposals to state and federal agencies
- We are active members of the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA)
- We attend the MBA’s National Policy Conference to engage with the Colorado Delegation in Washington, D.C.

Contribute to a Political Action Committee (PAC)
CMLA manages two Political Action Committees (PACs). Campaign contributions are made in a bipartisan manner (to both Democratic and Republican candidates) with a particular emphasis on those in leadership roles. Campaign contributions are distributed to each candidate in a manner that gives us the opportunity to discuss the issues we feel are most important to the mortgage industry
Colorado Mortgage Lender Political Action Committee (CMLPAC)
CMLPAC encourages participation in the political process by pooling financial resources to help elect qualified federal candidates whose views and voting records reflect the interest of the Mortgage Lending Industry in Colorado.
Maximum Contribution Allowed
$625 per election cycle
(Example: Nov 2016 - Nov 2018

Citizens for Homeownership Political Action Committee (CFH PAC)
CFH encourages participation in the political process by pooling financial resources to help elect qualified candidates whose views and voting records reflect the interest of homeownership in Colorado.
