CMLA is YOUR Legislative Advocate in the Mortgage Industry
January 19th - MBA Advocacy Update

Importantly, the revisions do not call for the premature release of the GSEs from conservatorship, heeding the concerns MBA had raised in recent weeks about potential market disruptions from a rushed exit.
January 19th - Biden Nominates Rohit Chopra to Lead CFPB
President-Elect Joe Biden on Monday nominated Rohit Chopra, who worked closely with Elizabeth Warren in creating the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau in the wake of the Great Recession, to serve as the Bureau’s next Director.
January 19th - FHFA Amends GSE Stock Purchase Agreements; Leaves Decision on Conservatorship to Biden Administration
Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will not exit federal conservatorship under the Trump Administration; the Federal Housing Finance Agency will leave that decision to the Biden Administration, FHFA said late yesterday.
