CMLA is YOUR Legislative Advocate in the Mortgage Industry
December 15th - MBA: Share of Mortgage Loans in Forbearance Drops Back to 5.48%
The Mortgage Bankers Association’s latest Forbearance and Call Volume Survey reported loans now in forbearance decreased to 5.48% of servicers’ portfolio volume as of December 6 from 5.54% the prior week. MBA estimates 2.7 million homeowners are in forbearance plans.
December 14th - MBA Advocacy Update
The CFPB released its much-anticipated final QM rules replacing the so-called GSE Patch and providing QM status for “certain” seasoned loans. Both final rules reflected important provisions advocated by MBA throughout the comment process.
December 12th - Pandemic Housing Shifts Will Speed Recovery in 2021
A slumping home market dragged out a rebound from the 2008 recession; this time the industry will help, not hinder, the economy.

Dieter Raemdonck is the registered lobbyist for CMLA and his practice is focused primarily on government relations matters at the federal, state, and local levels.
The Legislative and Regulatory Affairs Committee (LARAC) meets monthly to review proposed legislation and regulatory developments. We routinely comment on legislative and regulatory proposals to state and federal agencies, are active members of the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) and we attend the MBA’s National Policy Conference to engage with the Colorado Delegation in Washington, D.C.
