Down payment obstacle exists for many today, and Richard Ferguson, President of CBC Mortgage Agency, is knocking down barriers to homeownership through providing down payment assistance. The CBC Mortgage Agency's Chenoa Fund partnered with the UHOUSI Initiative last year in hopes of knocking down the obstacle for minorities and millennials. Ferguson has made it clear that without down payment assistance, millions of Americans would be shut out of the homebuying market and, with the assistance, creditworthy buyers and their families can reap the many benefits of homeownership. Ferguson can discuss a variety of down payment assistance programs in the United States that can assist renters and first-time homebuyers qualify for a mortgage. He can explain DPA program requirements and discuss the necessity of working with government entities, such as FHA, to expand down payment assistance and knock down one of the major barriers to homeownership—saving for a down payment.
